Exempt Employees will offer Students and Employees information about resources, support, and how to report incidents of Prohibited Conduct to law enforcement and the University. Exempt Employees will only report the information shared with them to the University if the Student and/or Employee requests that the information be shared (unless someone is in imminent risk of serious harm or a minor).
All other resources are non-confidential and non-exempt.
Support Offices
Dean of Students Office
The mission of the Dean of Students Office is to provide a place where UConn undergraduates work with staff to identify possible solutions to challenges they face as they navigate campus life. The office provides support without judgment and recognizes that every student’s experience is unique.
Employee Assistance Program (C)
The Employee Assistance Program (EAP) is a free and confidential service for employees and their household dependents. EAP provides private assessment, brief counseling and/or referrals for additional services to assist with personal and/or work-related problems that could potentially impact job performance, health, mental and emotional well-being. Such concerns, amongst others, may include stress, financial issues, legal issues, family problems, office conflicts, and alcohol or substance abuse. EAP also works with supervisors and managers to provide proactive planning for, and intervention in, situations such as organizational changes and in response to traumatic events.
Graduate Student and Postdoctoral Affairs of The Graduate School
The Graduate Student and Postdoctoral Affairs office is available to support graduate students throughout their graduate student journey. Our team works with graduate students to navigate personal and academic challenges and identify appropriate resources and next steps for support while being sensitive to and recognizing the unique aspects of the graduate student experience.
Ombuds Office (E)
The Ombuds Office was established to provide a confidential, neutral resource for staff, faculty, Professional and graduate students and trainees to express concerns, identify options to address workplace conflicts, facilitate productive communication, and surface responsible concerns regarding university policies and practices.

The African American Cultural Center (AACC) was established in 1968 to support African Americans in all aspects of campus life. The Asian American Cultural Center (AsACC) provides resources to enhance the University’s diversity commitment through its recruitment and retention efforts, teaching, service, and outreach to the Asian American community on campus and beyond. Central to all its programming, the AsACC assists students in exploring and defining their cultural identity in multicultural America. The Puerto Rican/Latin American Cultural Center’s mission is to improve the status of Latinx students and to promote awareness, understanding, and appreciation of the richness and diversity of Latinx individuals and Latin American cultures. PRLACC sponsors educational and cultural programs, provides services and leadership opportunities, fosters connections, and educates the greater University community about Latinx issues. The Rainbow Center’s mission is to operate in the service of a more equitable world for all students, faculty, and staff at the University of Connecticut. The mission of the Women’s Center is to educate, advocate, and provide support services for the achievement of women’s equity at the University and within the community at large. Office of Community Standards
The mission of the Office of Community Standards is to facilitate individual student success through an ethic of care while maintaining a safe and productive community. The office’s vision is to establish an intercultural, academic community that engages in civility, approaches learning with the spirit of inquiry, promotes personal growth and engagement, and embraces responsibility for the health and safety of all members.
Office of Employee Relations
The Office of Employee Relations oversees faculty and staff labor relations at all UConn campuses. The Office reports to the Chief Human Resources Officer, and many of the attorneys within the Office have a dotted-line relationship to the University’s General Counsel.

Office of Institutional Equity
The Office of Institutional Equity (OIE) ensures the University’s commitment and responsibility to foster equitable and inclusive working and learning environments. Our work focuses on administering the University’s non-discrimination policies, as well as ensuring compliance with state and federal laws and regulations related to equal opportunity and affirmative action, including but not limited to the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Title IX of the Education Amendments Act of 1972, Title VI and Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, and the Connecticut Fair Employment Practices Act. This includes OIE serving as the office of the ADA Coordinator and Title IX Coordinator.
